POSCO Future M Unveils Bold New Vision: "Motivate the Future Movement with Eco-Friendly Future Materials"

At the POSCO Center in Daechi-dong, POSCO Future M showcased its new vision, setting an impressive 2030 benchmark of KRW 43 trillion in sales and KRW 3.4 trillion in operating profit.

The event, titled "Vision Empathy 2023: The Value POSCO Future M Imparts to the World," saw President Kim Jun-hyung, alongside staff, introducing the vision, "Motivate Future Movement." This vision encapsulates our commitment to pioneering materials that usher in an eco-friendly future, creating indispensable value for the global landscape and perpetuating positive change.

A testament to the company's emphasis on unity, the vision-sharing occasion was tailored to foster genuine employee engagement. Adopting a town hall approach, the setting was imbued with creativity and diversity, with staff sharing reflections on the unveiled vision. Seamless video connectivity ensured real-time participation across our Pohang, Gwangyang, Sejong, and Gumi locations.

In a strategic move, President Kim Jun-hyung personally delineated the medium-to-long-term business trajectory, encompassing the 2030 financial milestones.

Central to our strategy are ▲positioning ourselves as the unparalleled Total Solution Provider in the battery material segment, bridging unique global raw material sourcing with comprehensive production and recycling initiatives, ▲harnessing our financial might to catalyze rapid investment decisions, subsequently bolstering our global production footprint and ▲instigating a virtuous cycle of R&D excellence through a collaborative triad of industry, academia, and research alliances.

Reiterating our allegiance to sustainability, President Kim highlighted the shift to lucrative eco-friendly offerings and a staunch dedication to achieving 100% internal waste recycling. With eyes set on global horizons, market expansions into Vietnam and Turkey are in the pipeline. Furthermore, our nascent activated carbon venture is poised for evolution with state-of-the-art products centered on carbon capture.

In response to an employee's query about achieving peak corporate standing during the interactive session, President Kim exuded confidence, stating, "The zenith isn't far off." He further emphasized, "We're committed to recognizing and rewarding the sterling contributions of our staff, ensuring that every member of the POSCO Future M family not only takes pride in belonging to a world-leading entity but also exemplifies this excellence."

Complementing these endeavors, the day also marked the debut of our internal communication platform, 'MiSoZine.' An amalgamation of 'Mi (signifying future)' and 'So (meaning Material),' capped with 'Zine,' symbolizes a platform radiating positivity. It's designed as a dynamic space where employees exchange insights, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared purpose.

The 'MiSoZine' internal communication platform boasts a dedicated to disseminating internal and external news and curated content. Moreover, the segment spotlights employee interviews and encapsulates our corporate ethos, while the offers a consolidated space to view diverse video content, including those from YouTube. Complementing these features is the , a dynamic forum designed for unbridled discussions, pioneering ideas, and proposals geared toward organizational growth.

During this notable event, POSCO Future M proudly introduced its visionary 'POSCO Future M Sustainable Future Forest' initiative. This ambitious project aims to embed 100,000 trees with high carbon absorption capacities within our operational zones by 2030. This endeavor aligns with our broader objective to spearhead the 'Carbon Offset Forest' movement, targeting carbon neutrality by the milestone year 2050. Encompassing collaboration from company affiliates to the wider community, including those with disabilities, the forest is envisioned as a sanctuary for communal rejuvenation, representing our commitment to environmental and societal stewardship.
